New colour launched from the flagship Denton factory

Wienerberger has launched a new red brick in the Terca range. The Ashton Weathered Red is a smooth red brick with a black weathered surface which creates an aged appearance, ideal for creating a heritage or restored look.
Expected to be popular for a wide range of projects, including new build housing and refurbishment projects where an old-style appearance is required, the Ashton Weathered Red was developed to have a similar aesthetic to reclaimed materials, but with the performance credentials of a modern product.
The brick is also expected to be in demand across the North of England and the Midlands, particularly in inner city areas where buildings have traditionally been built using red brick stocks.
The Ashton Weathered Red further enhances the colour range available from the Denton factory in Manchester and has been accredited to BES 6001 the Responsible Sourcing framework which gives housebuilders extra points towards the Code for Sustainable Homes.
For the past 15 years the Denton site has been at the forefront of the development of Environmental Management Systems within UK brick factories and became the first brick factory in the world to be certified to the Environmental Management System standard BS EN ISO 14001.
