Manuela Fazzan, Director of Commercial Propositions at wienerberger UK & Ireland, shares insights on system-led housing solutions, and the practical support that helps customers build with confidence.
At wienerberger, architecture and building design are guided by a ‘building for what’s next’ mindset. We look beyond products and projects to focus on people, purpose and long-term impact, bringing greater clarity and confidence to what comes next.
Manuela plays a pivotal role in bringing together teams, expertise and propositions that support customers across the built environment, helping make confident decisions from early design through to delivery.
“I’m focused on creating solutions that bring real value to customers that take our full product and service oAering to market, oAering practical solutions to our customers’ pain points. My team covers architectural and design services, technical specification across wall, roof, heating and water, as well as social housing, contractors, and site services.”
Over the past eight years at wienerberger, Manuela’s journey has closely mirrored the organization’s growth, moving from technical excellence towards fully integrated, system-led solutions.
“My career at wienerberger started in 2018 when I joined the technical team as a Technical & Design Manager, leading the Built Environment team. With an architectural background, I was responsible for managing the architectural team and coordinating the design, engineering, and planning of housing developments, as well as leading Building Information Modelling (BIM) implementation.
Over the years, I’ve worked on a wide range of projects and collaborated with teams across the business, which has helped me develop strong leadership and strategic skills. This experience has led me to my current role.”
Delivering for customers remains Manuela’s focus. Speaking about how she keeps her team aligned, ensuring everyone understands their role in delivering value.
“Everything we do is aligned to our 2030 strategy, building for what’s next and our growth ambitions, so everyone understands how their role contributes to that goal and to delivering for our customers. We want to support them in making confident choices and decisions, it’s not just about what we do, but why it matters.”
In March 2026, Manuela had the opportunity to attend the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) Parliamentary Reception at the House of Commons. Reflecting on the gathering, focused on delivering and retrofitting high-quality homes of the future, she reiterates the importance of having a voice in national conversations:
“Standing in such a historic and significant place, surrounded by leaders from across our industry and the country was genuinely special. Moments like that really remind you of the importance of the work we do and the impact it can have on a national level. We were proud to have been there showcasing our social housing oAering, with Renatus and RoofSpec+, and discussing how our propositions can drive real change for communities.”
Ultimately, Manuela is most proud of the projects she’s delivered, the people behind them and the benefits they create for customers and communities.“I’m incredibly proud of not only the work my team delivers, but of the team we’ve built. People who genuinely care about the business and about each other, which naturally translates into how we can serve our customers. I’m particularly proud of the Liverpool John Moores University Renatus project, as it demonstrates that a data-led approach is not only achievable but impactful It’s a powerful example of how, through our Renatus approach, we can improve not just homes, but peoples’ lives.”
When asked for advice to young people pursuing a career in architecture and building design, Manuela comments.
“My advice would be to stay curious and open to learning beyond just design. Architecture and building design today are about much more than aesthetics, they’re about performance, sustainability and how buildings are at the core of people’s lives. And especially to young girls who would like to join the construction industry; be confident in your voice and your ideas; don’t be afraid to be yourself and step into spaces that may feel male-dominated; don’t hold back from contributing because you feel diAerent or outnumbered.Over time, confidence builds from experience, and the more you show up as yourself, the more you’ll realise you absolutely can do it!” — Manuela Fazzan, Director of Commercial Propositions at wienerberger UK & Ireland.
