    Environmental Product Declarations (EPD)

    Understanding the environmental performance of construction products is essential to building for what’s next.

    At wienerberger, we are increasing transparency around the impact of our wall, roof and landscaping solutions, supporting customers to make informed decisions and helping to reduce whole-life carbon across projects.

    This work supports our sustainability strategy, where we are tackling the challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss and resource scarcity, while enabling better-performing buildings and infrastructure.

      What is an EPD?

      An Environmental Product Declaration, or EPD, is a standardised document that discloses the environmental performance or impact of any product or substance across its lifetime in a transparent manner.

      An EPD is a standardised document that:

      • Reports environmental performance across a product’s life cycle

      • Is based on the ISO 14025 standard

      • Is based on detailed LCA data

      • Is independently verified

      EPDs provide consistent, comparable data, supporting more informed specification and procurement decisions. 

       

      Increasing transparency

      We have published EPDs for our operational brick and roof tile factories, alongside imported products, providing more granular, factory-level data to support project-level carbon assessments. 

      These EPDs respond to growing demand for:

      • Greater visibility of embodied carbon

      • Reliable data for whole-building assessments

      • Increased transparency across the supply chain

      They are available via our EPD library and support our customers in delivering lower-carbon buildings.
