Wienerberger and Keymer are once again taking part in the Heritage Open Days programme of events this year!
Our visitors will be given the unique opportunity to look around our beautiful showroom, and participate in a full factory tour. This is one of the only times the public will be able to view a range of our brick and roof tile products being created. You will also get the opportunity to try your hand at making a Keymer tile!
Wienerberger’s Ewhurst factory is one of the largest brick manufacturing sites in the South East of England. The site opened in the 1920's and has an overall site area in excess of 400 acres including large areas of historic woodland and farmland. The site was previously recognized as "Ockley Works", from the 1920's right through to 2004, when Wienerberger Ltd acquired ownership of the site from its previous owners 'the brick business Ltd’, with the newest factory on site having been built in 1999.
This factory is also home to Keymer handmade roof tiles, which have been produced in the area since 1588.
