Calling all architects, developers, and architecture enthusiasts! Do you know of a building that pushes the boundaries of brick design? Now's your chance to shine a spotlight on it by nominating it for the internationally acclaimed Brick Award 26!
The Brick Award celebrates innovation and excellence in brick architecture, showcasing the versatility and beauty of this timeless material. We're looking for projects that demonstrate creative and outstanding use of clay building materials, from classic clay blocks and facing bricks to roof tiles, pavers, and ceramic facade panels. Whether it's a striking new build or a clever reuse of existing bricks, we want to see it!
This prestigious award, initiated by wienerberger in 2004, has become a highlight in the global architecture calendar. It recognises projects that not only look stunning but also prioritize functionality, sustainability, climate resilience, and energy efficiency. And remember, the use of wienerberger products is not a requirement for entry!
What we're looking for:
We encourage submissions that demonstrate innovative applications of brick across a range of categories:
- Feeling at Home: single-family houses, semi-detached houses and small housing projects of high architectural quality that provide comfortable, affordable, healthy, & sustainable living spaces with focus on energy efficient solutions.
- Living Together: innovative residential solutions considering the trends & challenges of urbanisation such as scarcity of space, energy efficiency and climate resilience, social challenges as well as new living concepts.
- Working Together: comfortable, aesthetic, energy efficient and functional commercial buildings, offices, and industrial buildings
- Sharing Public Spaces: functional, energy efficient, aesthetic, and adequate to its purpose public buildings for education, culture & healthcare, public places and infrastructure projects.
- Building Outside the Box: innovative concepts with focus on circular building solutions, energy efficiency and ways of using brick, use of new construction technologies, special brickworks, custom-made bricks & new ornamentation
