wienerberger Unveils UK’s First HVO-Powered Brick Delivery Vehicle
wienerberger is proud to announce the launch of the UK’s first HVO-powered brick delivery vehicle. This ground-breaking initiative, in partnership with Construct IT, marks a significant step forward in our commitment to sustainability and efficient logistics.
The new HVO-powered vehicle is part of wienerberger’s ‘Thunderbird Fleet’, a fleet designed to handle peak volumes and urgent orders. By transitioning to HVO fuel, we are demonstrating our dedication to reducing our carbon footprint and setting a new standard for sustainability in the construction industry.
HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) is a renewable diesel alternative that offers a significant reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional diesel. Deliveries made using the HVO vehicle will generate a CO2 cost saving of 89-91% per delivery. Not only will this significantly reduce our carbon footprint, aligning with our ‘Let’s Build Beyond’ strategy, but it will also decrease the overall carbon footprint for the final customer. We’re leading the way in sustainable construction by reducing the environmental impact of our bricks before they’re even delivered.
