What happens at Kingsbury Quarry?

At Kingsbury Quarry...
products are supplied locally, nationally and internationally. Our range includes facing bricks, engineering bricks, pavers, and hand-cut, specially shaped bricks, each crafted with care and precision. Most of our clay products are fired in state-of-the-art tunnel kilns, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency. Find out more about how bricks are made.

What truly sets Kingsbury Brickworks apart is its unique heritage within the Wienerberger group – it’s the only site that produces our signature blue brick products. This is made possible by the exceptional Etruria Marl clay found right here on site, a rare, high-quality material with limited availability across the UK.

Last in Warwickshire

Kingsbury is the only brickworks still operating in the county.

Nearly 200 years of tradition

Bricks have been made on this site for almost two centuries and the craft is still thriving today.

The history of Kingsbury Quarry

  • Historic roots – Originated from the former Whateley Colliery and Brickworks (mid-19th century) and the neighbouring Cliffe Blue Brickworks, active since 1838.
  • Coal & bricks – Brickmaking originally grew alongside coal mining operations.
  • Enduring craft – When the colliery closed at the end of the 19th century, brick production continued.
