Apprenticeships

We are passionate about the recruitment and development of apprentices as they are the future of Wienerberger.

Our apprenticeship programmes provide apprentices with the opportunity to earn while they learn, achieving valuable industry experience whilst working towards a specialist qualification with a licenced training provider. We offer apprenticeship schemes in Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance, IT, Customer Services, Marketing and more.

Apprentice Engineer

"The apprenticeship scheme lets you work alongside your colleagues to develop new skills. It’s great that you are able to learn and earn at the same time. There are lots of different jobs to do in the factory and I like the variety of the work. One minute you could be changing a few bearings, next minute you could be welding or fabricating parts.".

"I looked at apprenticeship pathways instead of taking the university route. I studied an Electrical Engineering Maintenance course at HETA.

Through my apprenticeship at Wienerberger, I’ve gained a lot of engineering and have been mentored by more senior members of the team. I’ve completed my HNC qualification and I’m hoping to my do HND as well. I was given the flexibility to continue my college work while I work.”

Wienerberger Apprenticeship schemes offer:

  • Vocational training
  • An industry-recognised qualification
  • A competitive salary above the minimum national apprentice rate of pay
  • Opportunity for a full-time position on completion of the apprenticeship
  • Mentoring from experienced colleagues
  • A real experience of the industry while training

By investing in apprentices, Wienerberger is preparing for the future. Apprenticeships are pivotal to providing industry sectors with the talent they need to thrive, and we aim to provide many more apprenticeship opportunities across all areas of our organisation.

Our apprentices are award-winning, with a First Year BTEC Electrical Engineering Student of the Year and Most Improved Apprentice of the Year award winner amongst our ranks. We hope to see the age bracket of our apprentices broaden and apprenticeship schemes emerge as a preferred way to promote development for individuals.
