A2 Rated Fibre Cement Boards
A2 Rated Fibre Cement Boards
Wienerberger’s SVK Fibre Cement Façade solution achieves the perfect balance of high performance and high design, offering durability and safety without sacrificing visual appeal. When it comes to constructing or renovating structures both large and small, SVK delivers the ideal building solution for creating inspirational facades.
Precision-engineered SVK fibre cement cladding boards are manufactured from a mixture of Portland cement, reinforcement fibres, additives and water, which is built up in thin layers and compressed to create sheets which are left to dry and harden before being painted or coated to achieve a decorative finish.
With a wide range of colours and textures available, SVK rainscreen panels offer the ability to create outstanding contemporary façade designs that enrich the built environment and provide A2 rated fire performance.
The SVK Fibre Cement Façades collection features eight decorative panel ranges: -
· Puro Plus

Fire performance is a major consideration when selecting a façade material for new build or retrofit projects. UK building regulations demand that only fire rated cladding is installed on buildings above 18 metres in height (or 11 metres in Scotland). Cladding products are subjected to rigorous testing to achieve their fire rating, comparing ignitability, smoke production and heat release amongst other criteria.
Fibre cement as a material will not fuel a fire within a building or ignite when exposed to flames. Under the BS EN 13501-1 standard, Wienerberger’s SVK fibre cement façade panels achieve a Euroclass fire rating of A2 s1, d0 – an industry standard for high quality, fire-resistant cladding materials.
· A2 means that the product is non-combustible.
· s1 signifies that little or no smoke is created during the first ten minutes of fire exposure.
· d0 indicates that no flaming droplets or particles are produced during the first ten minutes of fire exposure.
The SVK fibre cement façade solution has been independently accredited by the third-party Centre for Window and Cladding Technology (CWCT), who perform testing for weather tightness, impact resistance and more at their certified facility where they replicate the most extreme conditions that can be inflicted on buildings.
The SVK range also conforms to the BS EN 12467 standard for “Fibre cement flat sheets – product specification and tests”, as well as meeting the performance criteria of a European Technical Assessment (ETA14/0284).
As a façade product with longevity and durability, SVK fibre cement panels hold a 30-year design life guarantee, with no risk of shrinkage, warping and cracking once installed. Colourfast, UV resistant and hydrophobic coatings can be applied to fibre cement to offer additional protection against weather and pollution.
The Decoboard Classic and Ornimat ranges also boast a 10-year colour guarantee.
SVK façade panels can be installed quickly, efficiently and safely onto a wide range of substrates as an outer skin using a variety of visible or concealed fixings.
Typically fitted onto a timber or aluminium sub-frame using rivets, screws, glue or invisible mechanical fixings, SVK cladding panels can also be easily installed alongside other façade systems, such as Wienerberger’s Corium system, or more traditional building materials like brick for a mixed material aesthetic.
SVK cladding boards can be fixed with coated, round head screws to an aluminium or wooden supporting structure. The screws are inserted perpendicularly through pre-drilled screw holes.
Rivets matched to the same colour as the chosen SVK panel can be used to secure it to an aluminium sub-frame.
A specially designed, durable gluing system (a double sided adhesive strip paired with glue) can also be used to fix SVK boards to the sub-frame.
Invisible Mechanical Fixing
Anchors are attached to the rear side of predrilled SVK panels for attaching onto an aluminium supporting structure. There are no visible fixings on the front of the panel.
