In 2023-24, St Leger Homes delivered planned improvement works to 1,536 homes and invested £39.9 million on improvements. Roofs are seen as critical to ensuring homes are safe and comfortable, and St Leger Homes works closely with wienerberger to deliver an ongoing programme of roof repairs and replacements across its portfolio, contributing to the overall regeneration of Doncaster in doing so.

This partnership sees the delivery and installation of around 200,000 wienerberger Double Roman tiles each year, purchased through procurement body EN:Procure from merchant SIG Roofing. 

Collaborative approach

wienerberger’s roof tiles are selected for their aesthetic compatibility with the surrounding area, complimenting the local architectural style and ensuring consistency with nearby dwellings. They also adhere to local roofing specifications, emphasising durability and visual appeal.

However, it is the prioritisation of local partners that really adds value to the ongoing relationship between St Leger Homes and wienerberger, whose roof tile head office is located in Sandtoft, Doncaster, together with one of four UK roof tile factories.

The project focuses on fostering local partnerships, maintaining consistency in product use, and facilitating straightforward supply and maintenance processes. Working with a renowned local roof tile provider in wienerberger, St Leger has confidence in a streamlined collaborative approach that benefits its community. Advanced planning also helps to mitigate supply chain shortages.
