1819 - The Wienerberger story starts in Vienna, Austria. 29-year-old Alois Miesbach bought kilns and several plots of land with rich clay reserves on Wienerberg to start his brick making business.
200 years later in 2019 - we’ve come a long way! Manufacturing so much more than bricks, Wienerberger is now a global leader offering wall, roof and landscaping solutions, represented in 30 countries with 197 production sites.
As well as looking back at our rich history we are also looking forward to the future. Our diverse product portfolio and focus on digital innovations are helping us to service the evolving world of modern construction.
Over the past two centuries, Wienerberger materials have been used to create spectacular buildings around the world. To help us celebrate our bicentenary, we want you to nominate your favourite building and tell us why it is special to you.
