wienerberger returns as official brick partner for Super Trowel 2026

Published 11/02/26

wienerberger is proud to announce its return as the official brick partner for the 2026 Super Trowel competition, the UK’s largest and most anticipated masonry event. Now in our fourth consecutive year supporting the competition, we’re thrilled to continue championing the craft, skill, and future of professional bricklaying.

Super Trowel has rapidly become the flagship event for masonry excellence — a high energy competition that celebrates the precision, speed, and craftsmanship of bricklayers from across the nation. This year’s event promises to be bigger than ever, with expanded categories, clearer judging processes, and exciting new features designed to elevate the experience for competitors and spectators alike.

A bigger and bolder 2026 event

After a series of regional heats beginning in February, the 2026 Super Trowel final will take place from 31 July – 1 August at Hertfordshire County Showground, gathering top bricklayers, leading industry suppliers, and masonry enthusiasts for two days of thrilling competition and innovation.

Across two days, attendees can expect:

  • The Pro Series competition
  • Junior and Masters categories
  • The Hardest Hod challenge
  • A packed exhibition of products, tools, technology and techniques

At the heart of the competition is a challenge that puts skill and endurance to the test: competitors build a finished quality wall using as many wienerberger bricks as possible within a one hour timed window, following two hours of preparation. It’s a format that rewards focus, craft and consistency — qualities at the core of our industry.

Supporting the future of the trade

Our involvement in Super Trowel is about more than just the event — it reflects wienerberger’s ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of bricklaying talent.

This year, around 80,000 standard and special shaped bricks donated by wienerberger will be used throughout the national heats and finals, with a significant portion donated to further education colleges afterward. These materials will support hands on learning and help inspire future trainees and apprentices entering the trade.

Remaining true to our sustainability commitments, all bricks used in the competition are recycled and donated to not-for-profit organisations, ensuring that every brick continues to have a positive, long-lasting impact.

Changing perceptions, celebrating craft

Events like Super Trowel play a critical role in spotlighting the talent, dedication, and pride at the heart of our industry. Jack Dawson, Director of Super Trowel, highlights the importance of shifting outdated views of construction careers:

“Don’t fall into the trap of outdated stereotypes. Construction careers today are no longer ‘just manual labour’ — they are highly skilled, technology driven, and offer clear paths for growth and leadership. Modern bricklaying is a skilled role that requires precision and an understanding of technology. I’ve seen firsthand the skills and attributes needed to go far in Super Trowel, with a growing community of skilled professionals getting involved each year.”

Our ongoing partnership

wienerberger has been a proud Super Trowel partner since 2023, as a business that is building for what’s next, we believe in backing the people, skills, and innovations that move our industry forward. Super Trowel does exactly that — celebrating the speed, precision and dedication that define exceptional masonry.

We look forward to another record breaking, inspiring year!
