Brick and tile donation helps create new community sports hub

How wienerberger's donation helped revitalise Glossop North End Community Club.

The new facilities at Glossop North End Community Club in Derbyshire provide a significant boost to sport in the local area and create an inclusive and welcoming place for women and girls as well as even more opportunities to play.

The development includes a fantastic 3G pitch, named after Ellen White MBE in honour of the part she played in the Lionesses lifting the UEFA Women’s EURO trophy in 2022, as well as a two-team changing pavilion. This has been made possible thanks to a £1.55 million grant from the Premier League, The FA and Government’s Football Foundation.

wienerberger, who has a brick factory on Windmill Lane in Denton, as well as a quarry in Glossop donated over 16,000 bricks as well as 3,400 roof tiles to help create the community space.

wienerberger has operated Mouselow Quarry in Dinting, Glossop since the 1990s and aims to donate product to community assets close to its operations.
