Building futures: Supporting homelessness through shelter and community

At wienerberger, we believe everyone deserves a safe place to call home. Through our social impact strategy, we are committed to addressing homelessness by providing shelter and support.

In 2024, we partnered with Emmaus UK, a leading homelessness charity, to donate materials, volunteer in local communities, and support their Companion Training & Wellbeing Fund. Now, in 2025, we are strengthening this commitment.

With the launch of Danum & Dual Danum TLE, wienerberger will donate 50p to Emmaus UK for every full pallet sold. In 2025 we have committed £40,000, with the ambition of establishing a long-term partnership to support those affected by homelessness.

Funds raised will support:
• The ‘Build Your Community Grant’ – funding new and improved housing for Emmaus companions.
• Emmaus UK’s core projects – helping people rebuild their lives through training and employment.

This partnership naturally reflects the connection between roofing and secure housing, emphasising the fundamental need for shelter. Additionally, these products will be widely utilised in social housing re-roofing projects, further supporting this important link.

Emmaus offers more than just temporary shelter, it provides long-term accommodation, employment, and support for people facing homelessness. By living in an Emmaus community, individuals (known as companions) can regain confidence, access support, and work towards independent living.

Impact in 2023-24

• 3,398 people supported, including 1,383 in residential communities
• 225 companions moved into independent living, with 101 gaining employment
• 3,227 tonnes of goods saved from landfill through reuse
• 70% increase in volunteer engagement, with 18,203 hours contributed

Our partnership with Emmaus UK isn’t just about donations—it’s about creating lasting change. By funding housing projects and essential services, we’re helping to provide not just shelter, but stability and opportunity.
