Technical products can be difficult to explain, particularly when customers need different levels of detail. Timmy Mullins, Marketing Executive at Pipelife Ireland, helps turn that complexity into clear, useful communications that support confident decisions.
Every customer interaction at Pipelife begins somewhere. Whether it's a contractor researching our piping solutions, an engineer looking for technical guidance, a merchant visiting an industry exhibition, or a customer visiting the Pipelife Training Academy for the first time, it is essential that we create meaningful connections with them.
Timmy makes these connections happen. Since joining the business in 2017, he has played a key role in bringing the Pipelife story to life through campaigns, events, digital platforms and customer communications, helping customers find the information they need to choose our products with confidence.
"Over the past nine years, I've had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from campaign development and digital initiatives to supporting industry events, our Training Academy and our 55th Anniversary celebrations. One of the most enjoyable aspects of the role is collaborating with different teams across the business, which gives a real sense of being connected to the bigger picture.
I've worked in the plumbing and heating industry for most of my career, and from my early days in our old factory in White's Cross to where we are today in Little Island, the transformation within Pipelife has been massive."
As Marketing Executive, Timmy's role is centred on helping customers understand what Pipelife offers and how its solutions can support their projects.
"On a day-to-day basis, my responsibilities include planning and executing marketing campaigns, managing our digital channels, creating content and supporting key industry events. Whether it's developing messaging for a new product, coordinating a campaign or updating website content, the focus is always on making sure our customers can easily understand what we offer and how it benefits them.
"I work closely with colleagues across our sales and technical team at Pipelife, wienerberger, FloPlast, and Maincor. This collaboration helps us create marketing materials that reflect real customer needs and challenges, ensuring our communications are grounded in practical insight, genuinely valuable to our customers, and consistent across the wienerberger brand."
One of the biggest challenges in Timmy's role is communicating technical products and solutions in a way that is accessible to different audiences.
"One of the biggest challenges in marketing within our industry is simplifying complex, highly technical products and solutions without losing the detail that makes them valuable. Our audience often includes engineers, contractors, merchants and decision-makers, all of whom require different levels of information and technical depth. Striking the right balance between clarity and accuracy is key. Ensuring consistency in brand messaging is a key part of my role, as it directly impacts how customers perceive and trust Pipelife.”
For Timmy, one of the most rewarding aspects of his role is helping showcase the business and its expertise.
"I enjoy showcasing Pipelife in the best possible way. Whether I'm working on digital content, brochures, campaigns or event materials, developing a high-quality trade show stand, creating a strong trade advertisement, or producing engaging social media content, I take great pride in presenting the brand in a professional and impactful manner. Ultimately, it's about ensuring customers feel informed, confident and supported in their decision-making."
He is particularly proud of the Training Academy in Cork and the impact it has on customers and visitors.
"I believe our Training Academy here in Cork is something we can be extremely proud of. It's always great to hear the feedback from visitors. Everyone who attends comments on how impressive the facility is. It really reinforces the level of investment and commitment Pipelife has in education, innovation and supporting our customers."
Timmy also believes his journey at Pipelife has been rewarding, courtesy of the strong team culture within the business.
"There's a real team culture where everyone is working towards shared goals, and that makes a big difference day to day. It's a supportive, progressive environment that's always looking ahead, and that's something I really value. For customers, that commitment to collaboration, communication and continuous improvement helps ensure that Pipelife continues to deliver value today while building for what's next."
Looking ahead, Timmy sees his role playing an increasingly important part in helping customers understand the future of the industry and how Pipelife is helping shape it.
"I see my role evolving to become even more strategically aligned with Pipelife's vision of building for what's next, particularly in how we communicate innovation, sustainability and long-term value to our customers.
As the business continues to evolve, there will be a growing need to position our solutions not only in terms of what they deliver today, but also how they support future infrastructure, environmental responsibility and smarter ways of building. My role is to help turn that progress into a clear story, so Pipelife customers understand not only what our solutions do today, but how they can support the challenges of tomorrow." – Timmy Mullins, Marketing Executive at Pipelife Ireland.
