Jewson Live 2024 - Sustainability Award

Wienerberger at Jewson Live 2024: Driving Sustainability Forward

The Jewson Live 2024 event was a landmark moment for the construction and building materials industry, showcasing the latest innovations and trends. On Friday 26th April, the Jewson Live on Tour 2024 kicked off with their first event at Birmingham NEC, with stops around the UK planned over the next few months.

Approximately 2,500 staff members and customers participated in the event, which featured more than 150 suppliers and featured discussions on vital topics like mental health, safety, and skill development.

This year's event was particularly special, celebrating the successful launch of Jewson's new branding, a significant milestone reflecting their recent transition under STARK's leadership. The rebranding not only refreshed Jewson's visual identity but also reinforced its commitment to excellence and innovation in the building sector.

Winners of the Sustainability Award

Amidst this backdrop of renewal and forward-thinking, Wienerberger stood out, capturing the spotlight by winning the prestigious 2024 Sustainability Award.

This accolade is a testament to our unwavering dedication to driving sustainability within the construction industry, aligning perfectly with our support of Jewson's Making Better Homes campaign and the goals of our Let's Build Beyond Sustainability Strategy.

These initiatives are designed to address the urgent need for sustainable development within the industry, focusing on reducing carbon emissions, enhancing energy efficiency, and promoting biodiversity.

Engaging Experiences Teamwork

During the event, visitors had the opportunity to explore our range of innovative products that embody the essence of the Making Better Homes campaign. From lower embodied carbon Eco-bricks, in-roof solar panels and wildlife habitats, each product displayed at our booth was selected for its potential to contribute to more sustainable and resilient building practices.

One of the most talked-about features at our booth was the F1 driving simulator, an engaging experience that allowed attendees to immerse themselves in the thrilling world of racing and "get in the fast lane to Net Zero". Congratulations to the lucky winners of the arcade experience vouchers, who demonstrated remarkable skill and speed on the Austrian GP circuit track!

Our collaboration with Jewson as a headline sponsor of the forthcoming Super Trowel 2024 competition was another standout experience of the event, with a mini bricklaying competition area set out for visitors to show off their skills. Unfortunately, the 10-15 bricks meticulously placed by Wienerberger staff fell short of the mark, especially when compared to the 40+ bricks expertly laid by true professionals within a mere 5 minutes!

Teamwork and Collaboration

The success of Wienerberger's participation in Jewson Live 2024 was undoubtedly a team effort from our Sales, Key Accounts and Marketing teams. Months of meticulous planning, coordination, and hard work culminated in a memorable presence that resonated with attendees.

Nick Youds, Wienerberger Key Account Manager commented, “Jewson continues to be one of our key merchant partners and our Sustainability Award in 2024 is a great recognition of our work together. Our collaboration across key industry issues and product campaigns are highlighted in our Jewson Live On Tour activity this year.”

Craig Poulton, Channel Marketing Executive and event project lead added, “Events like this are a culmination of hard work from across Wienerberger, customers and our partners. It was great to see some fun engagement with our customers and help everyone learn more about our diverse range of products.”
