Wienerberger Limited is proud to announce that we have once again achieved “Excellent” status under the BES 6001 Framework Standard for Responsible Sourcing in our UK brick and roof tile production facilities. This recognition underscores our unwavering dedication to sustainability, ethical practices, and continuous improvement within our supply chain.
The BES 6001 Framework Standard is a globally recognised benchmark for responsible sourcing, setting rigorous criteria for ethical and sustainable procurement. Our commitment to responsible sourcing has been a cornerstone of our operations for many years and by achieving the highest rating possible under the Framework, we’re demonstrating our:
We promote and encourage sustainable procurement practices within our supply chain, ensuring materials and resources are sourced responsibly and efficiently. This minimises the risks associated with using unethical suppliers, giving our customers confidence in our procurement decisions.
We maintain long term relationships with key suppliers, using various tools such as contract terms and audits to promote fair labour practices and ethical business conduct.
Through the Framework we are also evaluated on continuous improvements in biodiversity management and community contributions, and high commitment across all subjects are required to achieve “Excellent” status. “We are delighted once again to achieve “Excellent” status under the BES 6001 Framework Standard,” said Stephanie Palmer, Head of Sustainability at wienerberger UK. “This recognition is a testament to our commitment to responsible sourcing and maintaining high ethical standards within our supply chain. We have held Excellent rating for a number of years thanks to a whole-company approach to continuous improvement in supply chain management.”
