Supporting Waverley Borough Council with a major senior living re-roofing project in Farnham
Shepherds Court in Farnham, Surrey, required a full pitched roof replacement due to ongoing water ingress affecting residents. The project was delivered for Waverley Borough Council by CWG Group, forming the first phase of a wider roofing programme, and was designed to improve the long-term performance, appearance and weather protection for residents.
Working alongside CWG Group, JJ Roofing Supplies and wienerberger, the scheme used a complete 15 year performance guarantee RoofSpec+, giving the client added reassurance through technical specification support, condition assessment, pre-start involvement, site visits and sign-off inspections.
The project started in February 2026 and was completed in May 2026, with an approximate value of £150,000.
The existing roof at Shepherds Court had experienced water ingress, creating stress for residents and highlighting the need for a robust, long-term replacement solution.
A roof survey identified that the building had been constructed in 1985 and featured both warm roof and cold roof construction. The survey recorded that previous repairs had been carried out over the years and that water ingress had been reported. It also noted several areas where the roof could be vulnerable, including signs of tile delamination, heavy moss growth, tired mortar, repaired leadwork, issues around roof windows and blocked valley areas. Sheperds court also recommended that, due to the size of the building, re-roofing the structure would be a more cost-effective option, introducing ventilation to BS5250 and fixing new tiles correctly to BS5534.
