wienerberger is proud to announce that it has been recognised in two categories as finalists in the prestigious Housebuilder Awards 2026, highlighting the company's commitment to innovation, sustainability and technical excellence across the UK housebuilding sector.
The recognition includes:
These nominations demonstrate how wienerberger is helping customers deliver more sustainable, energy-efficient and future-ready homes through a combination of innovative products, technical expertise and specification support.
The shortlisted Jigsaw Homes, Chorley project showcases how a fully integrated roofing solution can transform existing housing stock while supporting ambitious sustainability and energy-efficiency objectives.
As part of its commitment to improving energy performance and reducing fuel poverty, Jigsaw Homes commissioned a large-scale roofing retrofit programme across Calder Avenue and Mayfield Garden. The project sought to improve residents' homes, enhance visual appeal and support long-term sustainability goals while remaining compliant with regulatory requirements and within budget.
To achieve these objectives, the project combined:
A key contributor to the project's success was the use of RoofSpec+, which provided all stakeholders with confidence that the roofing system was correctly designed, specified and installed. The service delivered bespoke roofing specifications, fixing recommendations, custom batten layouts and wind load calculations, helping to ensure compliance, performance and long-term durability.
The project also benefited from the RoofSpec+ 15-year guarantee, giving additional assurance that the complete roofing system would continue to perform as intended for years to come. This combination of technical support, quality assurance and guaranteed performance helped create a reliable, future-proof solution for both Jigsaw Homes ‘and the Calder Avenue and Mayfield Garden residents.
Project: Jigsaw Homes, Chorley
The scale of the retrofit project was significant, with:
The works were completed on schedule and within budget, delivering improved EPC performance, reduced energy costs and a refreshed appearance across the development.
Resident and client feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with Jigsaw Homes reporting 100% satisfaction across key performance indicators. Residents praised both the visual transformation of the neighbourhood and the long-term financial benefits provided by the integrated solar technology.
The project stands as an excellent example of how housing providers, contractors, distributors and manufacturers can collaborate to improve existing homes while supporting the industry's wider decarbonisation objectives.
Project: Anderwood Homes (Eco Brick)
Alongside the Jigsaw Homes success, Eco-Brick has also been recognised as a finalist in the Product of the Year category at the Housebuilder Awards 2026. This follows its recent success at the Housebuilder Product Awards, where it was named Best Sustainability Product 2026.
Developed to help reduce embodied carbon without compromising on performance, Eco-Brick's innovative slimline format delivers significant environmental benefits while maintaining the appearance, durability and practicality expected from traditional masonry construction.
In addition, Eco-Brick's slimmer profile creates additional space within the wall build-up, allowing for greater insulation thickness and improved thermal performance, helping housebuilders meet increasingly demanding energy-efficiency requirements.
Its nomination for Product of the Year further reinforces the growing recognition of Eco-Brick as an innovative solution for delivering lower-carbon, high-performance homes.
Being recognised in the Housebuilder Awards 2026 across both project and product categories reflects the breadth of wienerberger's offering to the UK housing market.
As the industry faces increasing demands around energy efficiency, build quality and decarbonisation, solutions that combine technical expertise, guaranteed system performance and sustainable innovation will play an increasingly important role in the future of UK housing.
We congratulate everyone involved in both finalist nominations and look forward to the Housebuilder Awards ceremony later this year.
